Your salon in Abu Dhabi has a loyal base. Regulars who book their blow-dry before every event, brides referred by a sister, colleagues who share your WhatsApp number in the office group. But you can see that new clients, the families who have just moved to Al Reem or Khalifa City, the professionals relocating for a contract, the visitors staying near the Corniche, search on their phones first. And what they find first is not always you.
So you are thinking about bringing in a partner. Offers are everywhere: a freelancer who promises followers, an agency in Dubai with a glossy deck, a friend of a friend who "does digital". The risk is not only wasted money. It is also months lost while a competitor in your area takes the place you should be holding. Here is how to choose.
What you are really buying
Before comparing quotes, be clear about the outcome. You are not buying posts, likes or a new logo. You are buying booking requests from people who did not know you, and who found you at the moment they were looking for a salon, a spa or a specific treatment in Abu Dhabi.
That clarity changes the conversation. A partner who reports followers gained, reach or "engagement" is measuring their own activity, not your revenue. A good partner talks about enquiries, bookings and new clients, and agrees to be judged on them.
The criteria that matter
They understand your trade
A salon is not sold like a law firm. Clients choose on trust, hygiene, visible results, the welcome and how easy it is to book. They study photos, reviews, opening hours, parking, whether there is a ladies-only area, and whether they can message on WhatsApp. A serious partner should ask about your signature treatments, your quiet slots, your ideal clients and how many extra appointments your team can take.
They can show their own results
Ask what they have done for themselves. A partner who cannot be found when you search for them will struggle to make you visible. The best ones publish their evidence where anyone can check it, rather than sending screenshots in a private chat.
They commit to what they control
Nobody controls what Google or an AI assistant decides to show. An honest partner therefore commits to what they deliver and when, and lets you measure the rest yourself. Be wary of anyone who swears you will be on top within a month. Our guide on promises of a guaranteed top position explains why that line should worry you.
They leave you in control
Your website, your map listing, your accounts and your traffic data should stay in your name. If you end the relationship, you should be able to take everything with you. A partner who holds your access hostage keeps you through dependence, not results.
Red flags
- Promises of a ranking or a number of clients. No honest provider can keep them.
- Vague or missing reports. "We're working on it" is not a report. You should see, on fixed dates, what was done and what it produced.
- Jargon used as a smokescreen. If you still do not understand what you are buying after two explanations, the problem is not you.
- A very low price with nothing measurable attached. Paying little for nothing is still expensive.
- The same partner for every salon on your street. If they work for all your competitors, who do they put first?
What to get in writing
A verbal promise is worthless when results are slow to come. Before signing, ask for a document that states:
- what will be delivered, and by when;
- how often you will receive reports, and what they will contain;
- how you can check results yourself, in your own accounts;
- what happens if a delivery is late;
- the length of the commitment, the review points and the exit terms;
- who owns your website, your accounts and your data.

How Traffic Engine answers this checklist
Traffic Engine is Kolonell's offer that makes your salon appear when a client searches for your treatment in Abu Dhabi, on Google and in AI assistant answers, so that you receive booking requests. It was designed to meet each of the criteria above.
Kolonell first applied the approach to its own website, and the Search Console curves for kolonell.com are published on the offer page and updated daily. You receive a dated report every week and follow your own results in your own Search Console. The guarantee is in writing: everything your plan includes goes live on schedule, otherwise the following month is free. Kolonell guarantees delivery and measurement, not Google's decision.
To avoid serving all your competitors, each sector is capped at 3 seats per area. It starts with a Visibility Audit at AED 2,900, delivered within 48 working hours and deducted from the AED 6,000 setup if you start within 30 days. Monthly plans run from AED 4,500 for Presence to AED 14,500 for Flood, on a 12 month commitment with a measured review at 3 months. See the full offer.
Your next step
Before meeting anyone, take stock on your own. Search for your treatment and your area without typing your salon's name, then run the free website score. You will walk into your first meeting with a provider already knowing where you stand, which is the best protection against a polished pitch.
