You run a specialist store, a hardware and building supplies outlet, a beauty retailer or a distribution business supplying resellers across several cities. Your customers are shoppers looking for a specific product and wanting to know who stocks it, independent stores looking for a dependable wholesaler, and companies after a supplier for regular orders. You have accepted that you need to be visible when they search. One practical question remains: which plan?
Traffic Engine offers three standard plans, Presence, Momentum and Flood, plus two exclusive plans. This guide helps you choose on three criteria: the size of your business, your ambition and the level of competition in your sector. All prices quoted are those on the offer page, shown here in US dollars.
What every plan has in common
All plans rest on the same foundation. You start with a Visibility Audit at $750, which reviews your presence on Google and in AI assistants, positions your business against others in your sector and sets out an action plan. It is delivered within 48 working hours and fully deducted from the one-time $1,650 setup if you go ahead within 30 days.
Each plan is then monthly, on a 12-month commitment with a measured review at three months. You receive a dated report every week and follow results in your own Search Console. The guarantee is identical across plans: what your plan includes goes live on schedule, or the following month is free.
What changes from one plan to the next is intensity: how much effort goes into making sure your business appears when a buyer searches for what you sell.
Presence: the entry seat
$1,200 a month. Presence delivers steady baseline visibility. It suits a neighbourhood store or a specialist shop that wants to be found by customers in its area without immediate plans to expand.
It works well if online competition in your category is still light, if your capacity to serve new customers is limited (one location, a small team), or if you want to prove the approach before stepping up. First-year investment including setup is $16,050.
Momentum: the growth seat
$2,100 a month. Momentum is the most popular choice. It is the plan for a retailer or distributor that intends to grow: opening a second store, reaching resellers in other cities, building a trade or corporate customer base, or selling further afield.
It fits when several competitors are already visible online and baseline presence is no longer enough to stand out. First-year investment is $1,650 + 12 × $2,100 = $26,850. Think about what a regular trade customer, say a reseller who orders every month, is worth to you over a year: a handful of new accounts like that is often enough to cover the investment. Our guide on payback on a visibility investment shows the reasoning.
Flood: the intensive seat
$3,850 a month. Flood is built for heavily contested sectors and businesses that want to cover a lot of ground: a distributor serving several states or countries, a retailer with a very wide range, a wholesaler aiming to become the go-to name in its category.
It makes sense if your logistics can handle a significant rise in enquiries and orders, and if the value of a customer justifies the effort. First-year investment is $47,850. Our guide on setting a visibility budget as a retailer helps you size that effort against your revenue.
The exclusive plans: locking the sector
In each sector and area, Kolonell accepts only 3 standard seats, each with its own positioning. The exclusive plans go further: they reserve the entire sector, and no competitor in your vertical is accepted for the length of the commitment.
- Momentum Exclusive: $4,250 a month, or $52,650 in the first year including setup.
- Flood Exclusive: $6,450 a month, or $79,050 in the first year including setup.
One important condition: exclusivity can only be bought while the sector is empty. As soon as a first standard seat is signed by a business in your sector, it is withdrawn. For a distributor whose competitors are starting to invest online, this is a decision to make early. Our guide on sector exclusivity for retailers explains what it is worth.
Choosing for your situation
Three questions point you in the right direction:
- What is your size and capacity? A single store with a small team often starts on Presence. A business able to serve more customers aims for Momentum. A structured distributor with stock and logistics can consider Flood.
- What is your ambition over twelve months? Holding on to local customers is not the same as winning resellers in three new cities. The bigger the ambition, the more intense the plan should be.
- How crowded is your sector? If competitors are already highly visible, baseline presence may not be enough. If the sector is still empty, now is the time to consider exclusivity.
If you are torn between two plans, that is what the Visibility Audit is for: it gauges your sector's potential and recommends the right seat. The three-month review then lets you check the trajectory against real figures.
Taking the next step
Put your own figures into the payback calculator: the value of a customer, the plan you are considering and the contacts you expect each month. It shows the month in which the investment pays for itself. Then check on the offer page whether seats are still open for retail and distribution in your area.
